ParisLemon: WTF is up with Air Travel?

I fly pretty much every week and have given up US Air. Charging for bags? Wait until you have to change a ticket. I now fly Southwest as the only other reasonable alternative for my travel in SAN and PHX. At least the drinks an peanuts are still free.

I wonder if the bag fee is going to improve service or a 'special' fund for executive bonuses...

On CNBC they did a detail analysis of one airline, it showed that these guys even on a good day are barely breaking even to make a little profit. As sucky as it is to be overcharged just hope that the extra money goes to Joe the mechanic that keeps those old birds flying.
